Editing with an external editor

If desired, you can choose to edit a particular file in an editor other than Coda's.

To edit a file externally:

1. Control-click the file in the file browser
2. Select an editor application from the Edit With sub-menu

The file will open in the external editor.

The default external editor is listed at the top of the menu that appears when you control-click a file.

To set the default external editor for a particular type of file:

1. Choose Coda > Preferences...
2. Click Files
3. Use the +, -, and pencil buttons to edit the External Editors table
