Switching modes

Each tab or split in Coda's windows can be set to a different mode by clicking one of the six mode icons in the toolbar.

The six modes are:

• Sites: For managing frequently used sites
• Edit: For editing text files
• Preview: For previewing web pages
• CSS: For editing CSS files
• Terminal: For using the local shell, or connecting to a server via SSH
• Books: For reading programming reference material

Certain modes may offer different views of the same file. For instance, a CSS file can be viewed as raw source code in Edit mode, or via a graphical editor in CSS mode. You can switch back and forth in the same tab as needed.
