Using tabs

Coda allows you to use tabs in the same way as many other applications, such as Safari.

Each tab is an independent workspace and may contain a single file, or be split into multiple sections.

To open a new tab:

To close a tab:

If the tab has unsaved changes, you'll be asked if you wish to save before closing the tab.

Note: Closing a window will close all tabs inside that window. You'll be asked to save if necessary.

If you are using the sites feature, your tab layout will be preserved when you close the site or quit Coda.

If there's not enough room in the tab bar to show all your open tabs, a chevron symbol will appear at the right edge of the tab bar. Click the chevron to access overflow tabs.

To cycle through open tabs:

The name of the document contained within a tab is shown in the tab header.

To view information about a tab without switching to it:

A balloon will appear containing information about the mode and path of any files open in the tab.

To clone a tab:

  1. Control-click the header of the tab you wish to clone
  2. Choose Clone Tab
